Fashion Roundtable x @fashionassistants x BECTU

BECTU is the creative industries (feature films, TV, Theatres etc) part of the trade union Prospect- which has over 140,000 members. Trades unions are just colleagues at work who join forces to get better treatment at work. They now have fashion assistants who want to explore what could achieved if they worked together with us to improve conditions in the fashion industry - please fill in their anonymous survey here.

Tamara Cincik, Founder and CEO of Fashion Roundtable says: "I have worked hard with BECTU to add the creative side of the fashion industry to their union membership, after meeting with @fashionassistants and realising that so many are still not being respected or paid properly. The film industry in the UK is thriving, with crews knowing how much they will be paid, the hours they will work and the conditions they will endure. Film makes less for the UK economy that fashion and there is no reason for fashion assistants to continue to endure untenable situations. I am delighted that from next year fashion assistants will have union membership and all the support that entails: from insurance to protections."
