New Transit System
Use the New Computerised Transit System: Information on ‘What you need before you move goods’ has been added. Sections on ‘How to access the New Computerised Transit System’ and ‘What happens after you submit your declaration’ have been added. Sections on ‘If you’re a trader in Great Britain moving goods using transit’ and all other sections until ‘If you need more help using the New Computerised Transit System’ have been removed.

Economic Operators
Check if a business holds Authorised Economic Operator status: The list of Authorised Economic Operators has been updated.
Customs Handling

Customs, VAT and Excise UK transition legislation from 1 January 2021: Links to Statutory Instrument numbers 2021/1445, 2021/778, 2020/1613 and 2020/1379 have been updated and 29 new numbers have been added under ‘Customs’ in the ‘Statutory Instruments’ section.
Customs, VAT and Excise UK transition legislation from 1 January 2021: SI 2022/109 – The Customs (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2022 has been added.

Search the register of customs agents and fast parcel operators: The list of customs agents and the list of fast parcel operators have been updated.
Making Tax Digital for all VAT-registered businesses
Since April 2019, VAT-registered businesses with a turnover above the VAT threshold need to keep VAT records digitally and send returns using Making Tax Digital (MTD) compatible software.
From April 2022, these requirements will apply to all VAT-registered businesses, including those with a turnover below the VAT threshold.
