Apply for a grant to help small and medium-sized businesses new to importing or exporting

You can now apply for the SME Brexit Support Fund. Smaller businesses can get up to £2,000 to pay for practical support, including training or professional advice to adjust to new customs, rules of origin and VAT rules when trading with the EU.

New Guidance

Business travel: The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office will be hosting their next webinar for travel, insurance and business partners on Thursday 22 April 2021. Focusing on the new rules for UK travellers to the EU following the end of the Transition Period, experts from a range of government department will update on the latest changes and actions travellers need to take to be prepared. Great Britain Marketing Authorisations (MAs) for Centrally Authorised Products (CAPs):  A list has been produced by the MHRA of the products licence MA numbers for the grandfathering of CAP MAs. For more information, click here.

Net Zero event for small businesses in Northern Ireland

BEIS is holding an event in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Office and the Federation of Small Businesses Northern Ireland - "Your business journey to Net Zero".

The event will take place virtually on Thursday 29 April from 10:00-16:20.

The event content is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses in Northern Ireland and will facilitate understanding of practical steps for SMEs who wish to embark on their own Net Zero journey; the event also seeks to help businesses consider the opportunities stemming from the transition to a low carbon economy.  There will be multiple presentations and interaction with leaders on this subject.
