Black fashion professionals still face widespread discrimination, according to new report
A new report from the Black in Fashion Council and Human Rights Campaign Foundation surveyed 30 brand representatives on the diversity policies and practices of their companies. One finding in particular was that only 20% of participants reported having a formal progressional development program for underrepresented minorities, including Black employees. Read.
California Becomes the First State to Require Hourly Wage for Garment Workers
A new bill has passed in the US to require hourly wages for garment workers in California. The norm for garment work in the US has been to pay per item of clothing, and this new law will potentially lead the way for change across the rest of the states. Read.
