Our researcher William Wall presents a roundup of the week’s fashion and politics headlines — including the news that 188,685 retail jobs were lost between 23 March 2020 - 31 March 2021. Of those, 83,725 jobs lost in the period were through administrators, including Debenhams and Arcadia. The new paper by the Centre for Retail Research also states that 11,986 jobs were cut during company voluntary arrangement restructuring processes and another 92,974 were lost in rationalisation programmes.
