Government responds to the Environmental Audit Committee's 'Fixing Fashion Report'
As well as submitting evidence to the Environmental Audit Committee’s Sustainability of the Fashion Industry Inquiry, Fashion Roundtable attended all of the fashion related committee meetings that the EAC hosted across Parliament and at the V&A. We heard first hand accounts of the treatment of workers in certain factories, as well as the huge amount of clothes incinerated by Burberry - a practice now stopped - with a market value of £29m a year. The recommendations set out by the EAC Fixing Fashion report would have been transformative for the UK fashion industry, so it is disappointing that many of these have not been taken up by our government.
