Report a UK Internal Market issue
A new reporting service to the Office for the Internal Market (OIM) that your stakeholders can use to report any issues they encounter with the UK internal market.
You may be aware, the OIM was launched on 21st September 2021 as a new public body under the provisions of the UK Internal Market Act 2020. The OIM will assess whether the UK internal market is operating effectively and will provide expert, technical and independent advice to the UK government and devolved administrations. The OIM will monitor, assess and report on how effectively the UK internal market is operating and it will publish yearly and 5-yearly reports. The OIM sits within the Competition and Markets Authority and its functions are set out in Part 4 of the UK Internal Market Act 2020.
Customs Duty
Proving originating status and claiming a reduced rate of Customs Duty for trade between the UK and EU: The ‘Exporter requirements’ section has been updated to clarify that an exporter must be located in the UK to export to the EU, or must be located in the EU to export to the UK.
Goods Vehicle Service
Register for the goods vehicle movement service: If you’re a haulier and move goods through a port in the UK that uses the goods vehicle movement service, you’ll need to register for the service to get your goods through customs.
